Inventory Overview

Eyelit Technologies MES provides an extensive suite of material transactions, allowing the user to accurately and comprehensively track the history of items right through from receipt to dispatch.  All transactions are permission controlled, allowing granular control across the  different roles that come into contact with inventory at different stages of the flow of a factory / warehouse.  Full inventory tracking also allows for accurate and efficient production planning and scheduling (where production is constrained by material availability).

Inventory, also referred to as products, stock items, or material items, can be created through receipt or in‑house manufacturing.

In Eyelit MES, you can:

  • Receive stock items (manually or via purchase order).
  • Make items (Create WIP items and Complete Items).
  • Convert items to different items (e.g. individual screws to box of screws).
  • Assign received stock items to a job (kit).
  • Consume materials to other materials via stock items / item status. This does not require a workflow to be configured. Note that this would typically be used for testing.
  • Consume materials through workflow actions:  build and backflush.
  • Remove material from a parent (e.g. if component is defective and needs to be replaced).
  • Split stock to allow you to control over your inventory (e.g. split batch between two pallets).
  • Merge stock where two items have the same serial number (e.g. merge two pallets).
  • Adjust stock (e.g. WIP adjust for in process adjustments or available stock adjust for for inventory record accuracy checks).
  • Edit stock (e.g. change of expiry).
  • Scrap stock.
  • Place items on hold to prevent it being consumed or sold until it is released.
  • Release items from hold.
  • Transfer items to a different internal site.
  • Dispatch items to customers.
  • Return materials to vendors.
